PLEASE NOTE ! VERY IMPORTANT !
Due to a lot of confusion on costs on these artworks and why they tend to price high. We decided to layout the process in doing them more clear to our customers. More often than not these artworks or coats turn out more expensive than the mod itself.
to paint a vape we follow these following steps.
- Getting the vape undamaged and documentation with photos of how vape is received (usually by postage).
- Stripping the vape carefully.
- Masking what cannot be carefully stripped from fragile parts.
- Removing previous paint coat in the sandblaster in a fine sandblaster (only if metal).
- Plastic parts that cannot go through the sandblasting process gets lightly sanded or light scuffing of surfaces.
- 3x Light coats Createx Autobourne Sealer in base color or special paint depending on the projects.
- Measuring and planning of design for cutting vinyl stencils & backup stencils.
- Apply masking and/or vinyl stencils thoroughly for 1st coat.
- Apply 1st layer coating of design in Createx colors till fully satisfied with the 1st layer.
- Print several copies of artwork on photo paper for color matching on design.
- Careful application of detailed airbrush artwork which goes very slowly to do correctly at small scale as well as accurate detail freehand techniques.
- Mixing and application of 2K clearcoat with airbrush for fine spray 3x coats.
- Curing for 2 weeks to harden clearcoat completely.
- Sanding out imperfections with fine grit 1200 through to 200 grit sandpaper.
- Buffing of surface to a mirror shine.
- Careful packaging and posting.
